Last week, 31-year-old Charlie Kirk was assassinated for his political beliefs. My heart hurts for his wife and young children, whom I hope you all will join me in continuing to pray for.
Charlie founded Turning Point USA and grew it into one of the most important political organizations in the country. Turning Point has hundreds of chapters on campuses across the country and has worked tirelessly to reach and inspire young conservative voters. Thanks in large part to Charlie’s work, young people turned out in record numbers in 2024 to vote conservative. Thanks to him, a Republican won the popular vote for the first time in 20 years.

I believe it is our responsibility as young people to pick up the torch and carry on. As Millennials and Gen Z Americans age into positions of leadership, we should embody Charlie’s values, which included peaceful dialogue, hard work, and, above all, faith.
Political violence has no place in America. Although this tragedy has pained me deeply, as Charlie is close to my age and shares my values, it has also ignited a drive in me to stand up for what is right, speak my mind without fear, and proclaim my faith even louder. I hope you all will join me.
